About

My life was changed in 2016 with the dual diagnosis of hypermobility and fibromyalgia added to everything else I had. I write about these, along with my experiences with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and mental illnesses such as PTSD, depression and anxiety.

In addition to sharing my experiences, I hope to always share some of the ways I have coped with things. You can look forward to seeing a few free templates here and there that I use to keep the chronic illness side of my life as close to under control as possible.

You can expect to read about my personal experiences, things I use to manage pain, juggling parenthood and work with pain and fatigue, the occasional new research or study on chronic pain, and little bits here and there about other parts of my life.

Accessibility

I have tried to make this whole blog as accessible as possible. I’m sighted and hearing, so have based a lot of it off of what I have learned from blind, visually impaired, d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing friends. If there are any issues, please let me know and I will do my best to fix them. I am limited by what I can do with a free account and my knowledge, but will happily put in the research to make things possible.

So far, I have added descriptive alt text for every image, set up colours for dark text on light backgrounds, added headings and bold text to break up large sections of text and made my hyperlinks underlined and a different colour to help them stand out.

I also intentionally use short paragraphs most of the time and the simplest terms I can. I’m not great with big words in the first place anyway. If I put up anything with audio, it will have a transcript.

The Formal Stuff

I’m not a professional. This blog includes my personal experiences with illness and treatment and should not be taken as medical advice. Always talk to your own doctor and/or specialists about your own body.

Others are welcome to comment on my posts. I do not take responsibility for the views and opinions other people share on my posts.

I can and will delete comments that are discriminatory, inflammatory, abusive or are otherwise harassing.
