Hypermobility, for me at least, comes with difficulties using my hands. I have always had issues with writing. I just can’t grip pens properly and in high school, that resulted in a big lump on the side of one finger where my pen had to rest so I could write. Now I have trouble hand writing a few sentences.
I am so very grateful to computers for making hand writing far less necessary!
But it means the calligraphy I used to love doing has gotten harder and harder. Crochet and knitting are impossible. I can play guitar a little, but I can’t learn anything new. Can’t push on the strings as much as I need now.
Despite all that, I keep trying the old things I used to love doing, and finally picked up an old hobby again. For now at least, embroidery is still on the “yes” list!
What hobbies have you lost or gained?
